For the husband *Hint hint* nudge Nudge* *wink wink*

So The husband Man and I got new wedding rings!! (If you haven't seen the post pictures at the bottom)

Since getting said rings I haven't worn mine. Its been sitting in a pretty little box waiting.. waiting... waiting. I may or may not be waiting for something.. Like maybe a proposal redo.

When my husband proposed he did it in the car... No down on one knee, no romance. So I'd really like a redo.

I've been thinking about what my ideal proposal would be like.. Maybe In front of Cinderella and Prince Charming at Disneyland?

Or maybe like cause I love cupcakes

Maybe like this Hidden photographer in the Snow? (Look at all the Snow honey!)

Or Maybe like this. We love the beach and enlisting the help of our friends and family would be amazing

This is cute. We just ran this 5k

I would DIE. This is so cute

How adorable is this cake?

This would be perfect for me. Huh honey?

This is beautiful. This picture is perfection

Alright I'm done with pictures. All I'm saying is you better make sure I look pretty. Make up, nails and hair done, and not dressed like a raggamuffin.

Oh and You should probably have it video taped so we can show it at the vow renewal. Like this guy

Love you honey

My experience with Fred Meyer Jewelers (South salem)

My husband and I went to Fred Meyer jewelers looking for new wedding rings. We went in on a Sunday. I found a setting I liked but wasn't ready to pull the trigger. So the lady I worked with Celeste told us about the diamond sale they were having on June 1st. She took my information and said she would call. She called me 2 days before the diamond sale. We made an appointment for 10am.

On the day of the diamond sale they were open early. When my husband and I got there we were helped by a nice gentleman (Celeste was busy) he started out with what Celeste had talked to us about previously. When she was done with her client she came to help us. We looked at about 1000 settings before we settled on the one I had picked from our previous meeting. She went over all of the pricing with the discounts and everything. As she was half way through the first order we decided to look at a ring for my husband. We spent about 10 mins looking for a ring for my husband. She went over the pricing for that one too. She got our order all set up, gave final instructions about pick up, shook our hands and sent us on our way. Our pick up date was June 10th.

On June 5th, They called to say my ring wasn't going to be ready until June 14th. I was a little disappointed but I was thankful I had plenty of notice.

I received a call on Monday June 10th. My husband's ring was ready. I went in and they had it all ready to go. They showed it to me and put it in a pretty box. I was thrilled.

On Tuesday June, 11th I received another phone call. My ring was done. 3 days early. I was on cloud nine. I promptly went and picked it up. They showed it to me, packaged it up, asked me if I had any questions and sent me on my way.

I just want to say THANK YOU Fred Meyer Jewelers! I'm thrilled with my purchase and you can count us as life long customers!!!

With out further ado, The rings and the pretty packaging

My tour and interaction with Zenith Vineyards (So far)

Today I decided to take a tour of the place we picked for our venue. We picked Zenith Vineyards here in Salem, Oregon. http://www.zenithvineyard.com/

My conversations with Kari have all be by email. It actually works best for me due to my work schedule and the little one. They have all be extremely fast responses. I'm talking within an hour I have a response from her!

Today when I contacted her about wanting to come take a tour I was expecting a "Sorry, This is too late of notice. How about tomorrow?" That is not the response I received. I got a "I would love for you to come take a tour. See you at 2pm!" Yay!!

So I packed up the little one and headed out there. I adored my drive out there. Middle of the country, beautiful rolling hills, gorgeous sunny day. I couldn't have asked for a better drive. Everything was beautifully marked and super easy to find. The closer I got the more excited I became.

How cute is this sign?

the sign at the entrance.

They have roses at the posts lining the entry way *swoon*

My little helper

I arrived and the view is breathtaking.

See what I mean?

I got the kiddo out of the car and started walking to the front door. Even the front entrance is pretty

I was wanting to do something like

But its obviously isn't needed. Even the doors here are pretty

pretty right?

I walked in a found Kari setting up in the ball room. She has a warm, friendly smile. I knew when I met her that we had made the right decision.

She showed me the ballroom, Where we will be holding our events.

A wood burning fireplace! beautiful!

Chandlers. *Swoon* And the mirrors.

The grooms room is right off of the ballroom. It has a DVD player and and flat screen TV. (Score for the hubs)

We looked at the brides room. Which is amazing. It has a table for the maids to eat, dressing rooms, balcony's that look out over the ballroom, a full bath, and a make up bar.

We looked out at the wedding lawn. I have to say I'm sad we are keeping it indoors. Its beautiful out there

They have a covered porch (The veranda) that is amazing. Super protected even during winter. Maybe putting some bistro tables out there?

We then looked out on to this room (the gallery) which shows where the wine is made and the tasting room. I'm thinking the candy buffet and the cocktail hour may go out here. Beautiful art work.

I couldn't get over the details of this place even the bar had details
So pretty!!!!

I sampled the 2009 Zenith Vineyard Barrel Select and the 2012 Zenith Vineyard White Veil I loved the white veil. That will be part of our wine selection for our renewal.

I was also given a packet. Even that was pretty

Inside my packet was all the info I would need. I Love it. Its been added to my wedding binder and in my book as a YES.

Ladies and gentlemen, We have a VENUE!!!!

We'll be putting a deposit down early 2016

Until next time,

-Kendall

my brooch bouquet Part1.

I go back to school in the fall!!! Because of that I decided to only do my DIY on my time off. IE. Summers, spring, and Christmas breaks. So because of this and the fact I have so much to DIY I have started now.

I decided to make a brooch bouquet because I think they are amazing and what an awesome memory of your wedding or vow renewal

From here

Beautiful right?

With That being said this is a long process. I have decided to use a tutorial from Fancy pants wedding that a friend showed me.

I decided to start with step 3(sorta). I haven't collected all my brooches yet, so it seemed silly to me to start with step one.

Step One:
To start you will want to get all of your supplies.
You'll need a plate or a bead funnel tray (I used a Styrofoam plate we had)
Beading wire. (I bought 8 yards of 2 gauge wire in silver.) I cut three, 3 foot pieces. (you can do more but I wouldn't reccommend doing any less)
Scissors or wire cutters
Beads in any color you would like (I chose pink. My favorite!) I needed 3 of the little bottles. One covers about a 3 foot piece of wire and thats with the beads that wouldn't fit on the wire. You will want to have a few inches on each end of the wire.  What my bead bottle says is beader seed beads round 12/o I got them from craft wearhouse.
A flat surface. (I have used my table and a tv tray)
A plastic baggy (I used a snack size one.)
Floral tape
And a good show or even series. (This gets boring really quick so I turn on netflix while my daughter is napping or in her high chair and work on this)

My baggy, beads and plate

My wire... and Minnie Paws

My show of choice!

Step two:
Start beading. You'll wanna start by cutting your wire in what ever length you want. I did no less than 3 feet. After you cut your wire you're gonna wanna look over it and make sure there is no kinks in it. If there is you can do what I did (lazy status) and cut another piece or you can follow This to straighten it out. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUSH YOUR BEADS OVER THEM. YOU WILL BREAK THEM!!!! (Can you tell that I did that?)

After you have looked it over you are going to want to make a way for the beads to stop. I chose to make a little hook like thing

After that you can start beading. I made lines of beads and would help them move down to make sure they didn't get stuck some where.

Continue beading until all the beads are on all the wires. You need to do this 3 times.

Step Three:
Breathe and maybe have a drink. You're done with the beading. Admire your work.
This is about what they should look like

Step Four:
Make the petals. This part was hard for me. The gathering wasn't hard, the taping was. Start by Taking one end of the wire and bending it in to the shape of petals. Once you have the petals gathered I suggest taking wire and wrapping it around them at the bottom to hold them together.
Like so. It doesn't have to look pretty because it will be covered when it is all put together.

Once you get that done you will want to put the handle on. I took a piece of wire about 6 or so inches long. (Not all of my handles are the same length) and folded it in half. Then I took the top of the "handle" and put it up through the wire holding the petals together and folded them down to make hook like things. (Like above)

The next thing I did was taping. I started at the top and taped very tightly. You'll want to cover half of the tape from the row before. I retaped the top of these after I finished. You'll want to go all the way down to the bottom of the handle.

Step five:
Step back and enjoy your final work

If you need any help or any steps explained let me know.
